The concept of this 24 min video is based on the reminiscenses of a hotel - or some rooms of the hotel. Leonard Cohen plays a (long term) resident of the hotel. Each song is depicted by a little visual story involving some of the guests.

SPIRITUAL GARDENS looks at how gardeners set about making and connecting to a space, how design develops and evolves and the challenges posed by an art whose materials are themselves in constant motion. We look at what makes a garden work, what makes a garden outlast its creator and what gardeners derive from the very act of creating. We will feel how the experience of place and the rhythm of gardening connect to our origins, our communities and our inner selves. Most of all, we try to find out why we do it, what we hope to get from it and the qualities of human nature that find expression and fulfillment in the place and activity of gardening.

Even though Mr. Shekter lives in Montreal most of the time, he name-drops Tom Cruise as though he is a Hollywood player, a Scientologist, or both.
